EPC AND EPCM SERVICES

GABRICH Global Services Limited (GGSL) has the capabilities to provide a full turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) or engineering, procurement and construction management (“EPCM”) services for oil and gas and utilities.

As “Engineering, Procurement, and Construction” (EPC) contractor, GABRICH is responsible for all the activities from engineering design, procurement, construction, installation, pre-commissioning to commissioning and handover of the project to the End-User or Owner. This form of contract is known as “EPC/Turnkey” or “LSTK” for “Lump Sum TurnKey”, and sometimes also “EPCC” which is short for “Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning”.

With “Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management” (EPCM), GABRICH acts as a consultant to provide “management services” for the whole project on behalf of the client. Under the services-only contract, GABRICH performs engineering designs, then procurement and construction management services to ensure that the whole project is completed as required and in time. The Clients will sign Contracts or place Purchase Orders directly to vendors, suppliers, fabricators and construction contractors to serve the project scopes under GABRICH’s consultation and management.

PROJECT AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Project and construction management are crucial important factors for success of a project as a whole. As EPC contractor / EPCM consultant, GABRICH has developed a project execution TEAM with sufficient resources to be accountable for project and construction management. Purpose of the project management is summarized in the three following key objectives.

a) Project Cost shall be kept within the budget (Cost).

b) Project shall be completed within the expected term (Schedule).

c) Completed plant must meet the specified performance in terms of production capacity and products quality, and have excellent features in operation, maintenance, safety and reliability (Quality).

The project management will be executed thru the following management processes to achieve satisfactorily the above mentioned objectives:

Integration management: Project management processes do not happen independently. Integration management will drive us to balance all the processes with each other relating to scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.

Scope management: It is to ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully

Schedule management: It includes the processes required to manage the timely completion of the project

Cost management: Cost and man-power of the project. It includes the processes involved in planning, estimating, budgeting, financing, funding, managing and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget.

Quality management: Quality control of design and engineering, equipment and materials manufactured and field construction work to ensure that the project requirements are met and validated

Human Resource management: Well organize, manage, and lead the project team comprising of engineers and staff force with clear assigned roles and responsibilities for completing the projects.

Communication management: Include the processes that are required to ensure timely and appropriate planning, collection, creation, distribution, storage, retrieval, management, control, monitoring, and the ultimate disposition of project information. Effective communication creates a bridge between diverse stakeholders who may have different cultural and organizational backgrounds, different levels of expertise, and different perspectives and interests, which impact or have an influence upon the project execution or outcome.

Risk management: Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on a project. The objectives of project risk management are to increase the likelihood and impact of positive events, and decrease the likelihood and impact of negative events in the project.

Procurement management: Includes the processes necessary to purchase or acquire products, services needed for the projects. The Procurement management includes the contract management and change control processes required to develop and administer contracts or purchase orders issued by authorized project team members. It also includes controlling contracts issued by project owners or clients as the buyer that is acquiring deliverables from the project from the performing organization as the seller, and administering contractual obligations placed on the project team by the contract.

Stakeholder management: Identifies the people, groups, or organizations that could impact or be impacted by the project, to analyze stakeholder expectations and their impact on the project, and to develop appropriate management strategies for effectively engaging stakeholders in project decisions and execution. Stakeholder management also focuses on continuous communication with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, addressing issues as they occur, managing conflicting interests and fostering appropriate stakeholder engagement in project decisions and activities. Stakeholder satisfaction is managed as a key project objective.

For execution, depending on the scale and type of the project, suitable team members are selected from functional departments to work under the project manager to implement contracted scopes including schedule, budgetary, quality and safety controls with a consistent concept and policy. These assigned engineers retain their positions in the functional units to get technical instruction and necessary support from the discipline leader. The “Matrix organization” is applied to ensure accumulating of experiences and higher work production. The design engineers who have participated at the detailed engineering stage are normally put in a supervision position at the construction stage to ensure continuity of the project. GABRICH has acquired project management know-how through teaming-up with expatriates in various projects from different countries. Besides that, GABRICH has also accumulated the most up-to-date knowledge of local conditions, particularly the proven and on-going mobilization experience and capability in handling local resources, i.e. materials and labor, vendors and sub-contractors, local regulations which are of prime importance for successful project execution.

For field work, GABRICH organizes a site team headed by construction manager with full responsibility and authority to manage all site activities. The team comprises of engineers and supervisors who are experienced not only in plant construction but also in construction of other facilities. Involvement of the construction manager from an early stage of a project could facilitate the construction planning more closely, and the construction implemented smoothly and effectively. Through the team, a detail execution plan for safety, quality, cost, schedule and workforce control is carried out to complete the work within the contracted period. Numbers of skilled supervisory personnel and engineering personnel are adequate to ensure both effective direct control and coordination of construction operations, as well as resolving on time all engineering questions arising at the Site during the construction period and up to Initial Acceptance. Following mechanical completion and pre-commissioning, GABRICH will conduct or assist clients to carry out commissioning of the plant subject to the split of scope of work in contract.
